Retightening the Collet ZS-4D <DWX-52D>
There are two types of spindles. This section presents the case for ZS-4D.
The collet for ZS-4D spindles is ZC-4D.
Collet (part used to grip the milling bur)
If milling is continued, the collet will loosen, making it easier for the milling bur to come off. Periodically retighten the collet.
It may be effective to clean the inside of the collet at the same time as retightening it.

3 Retightening the collet
Reference video
3.1 Clicking VPanel [Machine Settings] > [Maintenance] > [Open collet].
3.2 Place the wrench on the collet.
3.3 Insert the detection pin into the collet as far as it will go.
Use the supplied wrench when inserting the detection pin. If the detection pin is not inserted, the collet may deform, resulting in poor milling accuracy.
3.4 The collet is tightened with a wrench while the detection pin is supported by the hand.
Tightening is sufficient when the wrench and spindle unit tips (colored areas in the following panel) turn simultaneously.
3.5 Detection pin and wrench are removed.
3.6 Close the front cover.
3.7 Clicking VPanel [Machine settings] > [Maintenance] > [Close collet].
